Documentation Summary

This documentation provides the step-by-step instructions on how to make, calibrate, and operate your own MMS. The project hardware is scratch-built from aluminum and carbon fiber using only desktop manufacturing technologies. However, with this being an open-source hardware project, all the design information and respective CAD/CAM files are provided. With the low-level design information, other manufacturing approaches could be explored by an interested user. The individual geospatial sensors used in this project are of the highest quality and provide excellent performance. They are the same sensors used in numerous commercially available systems. The documentation also includes step-by-step instructions on how to process the data collected by the MMS hardware, using a novel open-source suite of software applications.
